Our Story

OHAC was founded to address the growing need for a platform where Oromo Canadians could connect, celebrate their heritage, and share their stories. Inspired by the resilience and vibrancy of the Oromo people, OHAC was established as a space for cultural preservation and education, where community members of all ages can come together to learn, support one another, and pass on Oromo traditions. From humble beginnings, our association has grown into a thriving community hub that advocates for the Oromo people and builds a stronger, more inclusive Canada.

      Our Vision & Mission  Statement  (2025 -2030)

"We dive into our rich heritage to shape the future we envision."

The Oromo Heritage Association of Canada (OHAC) is committed to preserving and promoting the heritage, culture, and interests of the Oromo people through educational programs, community support initiatives, advocacy, and outreach activities. We strive to empower our community, enhance cultural awareness, and foster unity among Oromo Canadians and the broader Canadian society.
